This is an ecological expedition to the Northeast of Brazil to see and delight in the beauties of nature, live unforgettable moments and explore beaches from a comfortable landrover!
We will visit the famous Jericoacoara, considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, the Delta of Parnaíba, a natural collection of more than 80 islands covered with impressive biodiversity. And Lençoís Maranhenses, known as the “Brazilian Sahara” which is a huge park full of dunes and lakes with crystalline waters.

Day 3 – Fortaleza / Jericoacoara
At a time to be arranged, transport to Jericoacoara, in a 4 x 4 Jeep.

Day 4 – Jericoacoara (Trip in buggy to “Lagoas de Paraíso” – Lakes of Paradise – and “Lagoa Azul” – Blue Lake)
Leave in morning bound for a beautiful and untouched lake of clear waters with amazing colours in this unique landscape. At this lake, as well as the joys of nature, it is possible to enjoy drinks and “petiscos” (snacks) in a rustic thatched bar. Lunch at the “Lagoa Azul” (Blue Lake).
In the afternoon we will visit a very calm and beautiful place, where visitors can enjoy sunbathing and boat rides….
Day 5 – Jericoacoara

Day 6 – Jericoacoara / Parnaíba
Depending on the tide times, we will leave in a 4 x 4 Jeep to visit the beaches Mangue, Seco, Guriú, the ruins of Velha Tatajuba (Old Tatajuba), the beach of Coqueiro Solitário (single palm tree) and Camocim, where we cross the Rio (river) Coreaú. We will also visit the beaches Luis Correia and Atalei. Situated 100km from Camocim, we will arrive at the delta of Rio (river) Parnaíba, that is spread out between the States of Maranhão and Piauí, and is one of only three deltas on open sea in the world (the others are in the Nile, Africa and at Mekong, in Asia) and the only one on the continent of America, forming a natural collection of nearly 80 islands rich in biodiversity.
After lunch, we will go by speed boat up the canals of the Delta to see the rich fauna and flora. Eating fresh crab and oysters must not be missed!

Day 7 – Parnaíba / Caburé / Barreirinhas (Lençóis Maranhenses)
After breakfast we will leave to visit Rio (river) Novo, an environmental area protected by Paulino Neves.
Arrival at Caburé. Lunch and time to rest. Afterwards we will leave by boat, stopping at the lighthouse of Mandacaru which has a view of 360° of the unique landscape of Mandacaru, Atins and small Lençóis. There is stop at Vassouras where you can see various tame monkeys (Macacos Pregos) who answer to their names. They love being given fruit.
Arrival at Barreirinhas and transport to the hotel.

Day 8 – Barreirinhas (Trip to the National Park of Lençóis Maranhenses)
In the morning, we will go by Toyota Jeep 4 x 4 (jardineira) to the National Park of Lençóis Maranhenses, with a visit to either Lagoa Azul (Blue Lake) or Lagoa Bonita (Pretty Lake), two of the most crystalline lakes in the Park, situated in the middle of some immense dunes.
At 1700 transport in minibus to São Luís.
